Barbara Siggers Franklin was a producer, music executive, and entrepreneur. She is best known for being the president of MCA Records' African-American music division and for being the first African-American woman to hold such a position in the music industry. She worked with artists such as Gladys Knight & the Pips, Stevie Wonder, and Lionel Richie. Franklin was instrumental in advancing the careers of many African-American musicians and was known for her dedication to promoting diversity and inclusivity in the music business. She passed away in 2013.
